Orecchiette

ingredients

  • orecchiette (invest in a decent brand - eg. de cecco)
  • salt (one full punch to salt the water, some pinches for the salsa)
  • extra vergin olive oil (some)
  • cherry tomatoes (one qt. box)
  • garlic
  • basil (few leaves)

tools

  • big pot for boiling water
  • a colander to strain the cooked pasta
  • pan for the salsa

prep Pasta

  1. fill the pot with water, put on fire high until boil
  2. water is likely boiling now. Add salt to it, one punch.
  3. add orecchiette to boiling water
  4. after 10ish minutes (check box and taste it) strain pasta.

prep salsa

  1. cover bottom of pan with oil
  2. add peeled garlic
  3. dice tomatoes and throw in pan
  4. after 10 minutes add the basil to the salsa. let it go low/mid heat.

together

  1. adds pasta to salsa
  2. toss
  3. serve and eat
